The story behind these pics of my girls is that wh The story behind these pics of my girls is that while we took a walk, Hattie nearly wiped out in her sandals on our gravel and asked Elsie to hold her hand. I was pushing the stroller and just fell back a bit to capture these sweet sisters. That first one is a new favorite. 😊

The Jesse James Gang has once again been defeated! The Jesse James Gang has once again been defeated! We joined in the Kiddie Parade this morning and had so much fun all dressed up. My grandma made my dress for the 1976 Bicentennial and my aunt Louie made the girls dresses for her daughters and now they are my daughters favorites. We had a good time playing cowboys and pioneers (don’t we always?!!)
All week my kids have been talking about entering All week my kids have been talking about entering the tractor pedal pull at our town’s fair this weekend. But then yesterday we butchered chickens at a friend’s farm and got home too late to go. The kids realized they had missed it today and when the little boys got sad Elsie said, “we’ll make our own!” So she got to work with a yarn start line and added squash (that we got from our friends yesterday) to add weight until it was too heavy. Ultimately all the kids wanted was the can of pop, and Elsie knew that, so she even had Dr. Pepper prizes. Well done, big sister. Way to save the day!
Kick back kid. Sometimes. I mean, he’s one. He’s got some serious will in him too. 😅
