We just wrapped up another fantastic Grovestead Gathering, where Summer Camp comes to the Family Farm. Basically my dream come true. We had 35 families join us this year with many more on the waiting list. It feels terrible to turn anyone away who wants to come and we pray we can expand somehow in the years to come.
Every inch of our farm is used for this event. Cars are parked out in the orchard, the front porch serves as our speaking stage. The inside of the house turns into a nursery and preschool (we had 28 kids in this category!) There were 200 people total: 70 adults and 130 youth. Friends tent camped on our lawn, and the barn was used as a book store, lecture hall, art classroom and coffee house.

This year Jared Dodd came to speak and he was as solid as ever. Jared serves on our board for Gather&Grow and has been a friend since we first met in South Dakota five years ago.
The closing session is always so special- a time to pass the mic and share what the Lord has impressed on each person during our time together. This hour is my favorite of the whole event. We love hearing how God is impacting each family.
And then it’s time for the long Minnesota Goodbye’s that last several more hours and into the evening. (With lots of cars returning to find their children’s missing shoes!)
