Last week we celebrated three years of after dinne Last week we celebrated three years of after dinner walks. In this season date nights and get aways are difficult, so instead we walk our dirt road every single day, rain or shine, blizzard or polar vortex. We’ve seen a comet, chat with neighbors driving by, learned which constellations rise when and where, and mostly have 20 minutes to talk uninterrupted. It is good and I hope I’m still posting of this special anniversary for many years to come.
This fall has been so great because it has gotten This fall has been so great because it has gotten cold enough to remind us of what is ahead, and then warmed up enough to get it all done. These kids are on their fourth cord of wood, and we found this year that the addition of Papa (Rory’s dad) and large donuts from cub foods (brought by Papa) really turn a wood splittin’ day into a party. 🎉 But the best reward of all is breakfast by the fire on a frigid, cold morning. 🔥

My favorite Ivar story of late is how he put a bike bell on the broom so that when someone is about to walk thru his pile he can briiing! briing! his bell. It’s hilarious. (And genius!) He loves his siblings so much, and they love him back. Happy Birthday Ivar. I love exactly who you are.
We are selling our 3020! We no longer bale our fie We are selling our 3020! We no longer bale our field since we started rotational grazing, so we don’t need the John Deere anymore. But this has been a great tractor for our farm. We are sad to sell it!
I woke up this morning to a little falsetto voice I woke up this morning to a little falsetto voice trying some words over and over, “hi mama! hi mama! hi mama!” So I swung open the door and said, “hi Abel!” And then he was done saying my name. But I heard it! I heard it!
